Alectryon was born in Cleveland, Ohio (the start of every tragedy and some comedies). She is the daughter of two Romanian immigrants. Her mother claims to have singlehandedly killed Ceasescu; her father enjoys sunflower seeds. Alectryon has a half-sister who is half her age and a step-mother from the Philippines who is twice her age. Do the math.
In 2021, Alectryon moved to New York City to pursue an undergraduate degree from Columbia University. She moved while already a sophomore, since freshman classes were held online (yes, yes, pity me). While at Columbia, Alectryon majored in Classics (Greek and Latin) and chaired a debate society dedicated to truth, goodness, beauty, and other such slogans. She then went on to pursue a masters from the University of Oxford in 2024-2025. She now teaches Latin, Greek, Ancient History, and Debate at a high school in New York City.
Alectryon’s primary passion in life is writing novels. She attempts to keep up a blog and is on a quest to enjoy cooking. Her seven chickens are named, in alphabetical order, Bibi, Chickadee, Dahlia, Nugget, Puffy-Cheeks, Rosy, and Stella. The crew is very diverse, with two black, two yellow, one red, and two white.
